As the country's first operational aircraft carrier, the CV-16 marked the beginning of a new era in Chinese naval history, making it one of the most significant warships of the modern age.
Measuring an impressive 44cm long in 1:700 scale and assembled from over 100 precision pieces, this snap-on model faithfully captures the carrier's commanding presence with an epic level of detail and accuracy.
As you assemble it, you'll recreate the expansive full-length flight deck, distinctive island superstructure, detailed hangar deck, rotating turrets, observation and command towers, deck edge platforms, multiple anti-aircraft guns, detailed hull and main deck, realistic propellers and modular construction, resulting in a striking display piece worthy of one of today's most recognisable aircraft carriers.
Commissioned by China in 2012, the Liaoning (CV-16) was rebuilt from the unfinished Soviet aircraft carrier Varyag, transforming it into China's first operational carrier.
Beyond its military role, the Liaoning has served as the foundation for developing China's modern carrier fleet, training generations of naval aviators and paving the way for the country's future aircraft carrier programme.
