The Design Process
Studying the Real Machine
We started with the details that make a pumpjack instantly recognizable, the walking beam, horsehead and counterweight. The goal was to preserve the character of the real machine so the model would feel authentic from the very first glance.
Translating the Motion
The up-and-down movement is the heart of a pumpjack, so the mechanism had to feel smooth, purposeful and satisfying to watch. The design was built around recreating that familiar pumping motion in a compact form made for display.
Building With Metal
Instead of hiding the structure, the model puts it on show. Metal plates, screws, rods, and visible connections give the build a more mechanical feel, making the finished piece feel closer to the machines that inspired it.
Refining the Display Piece
Once the function was in place, the proportions, finish and base were refined so the model would look strong from every angle, whether it is moving, lit up or sitting still on a shelf.

How It Works.
Once switched on, the motor drives the pulley system, setting the crank and flywheel into motion. The linkage rod then transfers that rotation to the walking beam, creating the steady up-and-down rhythm of a real oil pumpjack.

This was a fun building experience, i think for a younger builder it would be quite educational on how thing work. the quality of the parts were good, I even liked the packaging, everything well numbered and projected
The packaging feels really well thought out. Every part has its own numbered slot, so opening the box already makes the build feel organized and premium.
I was surprised by how solid this feels once you start building. The metal parts have a nice weight to them and watching the mechanism move after putting it together was easily the best part. It feels more like a small working machine than a regular model.

Hey this pump jack is the real deal. What impresses me is the detail. Absolutely dead on. There are a lot of little parts and screws so paying close attention to the instructions is important. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. But, beware there are some little bitty parts you do not want to drop on the floor and if you have carpet good luck. I love it!
