Description
The Shuttle Carrier Aircraft was derived from a commercial airplane and was heavily modified to serve as a space shuttle carrier from 1977 to 2012. First-class seats were retained, but the main cabin and insulation were stripped to reduce weight, and the fuselage was strengthened.
It was first used with the Space Shuttle Enterprise for a test in 1977, during which the Space Shuttle was released from the aircraft for a successful gliding and landing procedure under its own control.
Assemble this impressive build that stretches to 70cm in length and boasts a wingspan of 50cm, providing a grand scale that captures the essence of the aircraft.
