Description
The Great Wave off Kanagawa is a woodblock print by the Japanese ukiyo-e artist Hokusai, probably made in late 1831 during the Edo period of Japanese history. The print depicts three boats moving through a storm-tossed sea, with a large wave forming a spiral in the centre and Mount Fuji visible in the background.
Our 1300-piece model captures the movement of the wave with all of its energy and beauty. The detailed boats and Mount Fuji in the background complete the scene of an iconic Japanese image.
